![]() Regarding the 'super' parts: Without too much of a spoiler, there are 'bosses' that have unique things you can create with them, but I never really bothered (again, I was on the easiest difficulty), so I'm afraid I don't know if they are like the AC 'Overed Weapons' mechanic. There is a little bit of weight/energy control, but I honestly didn't have to worry about that at all, so it might as well have not been there? You can't fine-tune the parts though, from what I remember. Customisation-wise, you can change the head, body, arms, legs, 2 weapons (one in each hand), a shoulder 'weapon' (which can be a utility) and a 'chip' that is basically just a passive increase to certain stats. I preferred the AC game I played in terms of control, purely because the mechs feel more 'weighty' in AC, whereas they feel fairly light in DxM, even in some of the heavier mechs. I remember back in the demo when I really thought I wouldn't like it, as I found the demo to be rather slow and boring, but the game itself is far better.Ĭourt Potts I've only played one of the arena-based AC's on PSP, and I played DxM on the easiest difficulty, so I'm not 100% sure how accurate my answers to you questions will be, but here I go anyway: I've played it and really enjoyed it (although I could do so without thinking about price, as it was my roommate's copy of the game). There are 70 missions, after all, and I'm only through about 10 or so! The one thing I will say is that it seems priced a bit high at $59.99, but my perception may change the further I get. Overall, I'd recommend it for Switch owners looking for a fun and easy to get into "mecha" experience. I don't view that as a "grind" if the gameplay is entertaining. It also scratches the "kill stuff, gather loot" impulse, if that's something you dig. The graphics, presentation, and polish are all top-notch in my opinion. So is the feeling of unleashing a volley of seeker missiles. The feeling of battling a huge Immortal, even on the small screen, is awesome. But the combat is really satisfying, in my opinion. The reviews and impressions seem to be somewhat divided, and I can see that - I agree the story and voice acting isn't stellar yet they push it pretty hard. I've really taken to my Switch lately after it was collecting dust for a while in favor of PC/PS4, and Daemon X has been a part of that.
